“What the audience wants to know, needs to know, and best way to tell the story.” That's the personal maxim that guides all of Steve Grant’s anchoring, reporting and writing for KY3 News.
After 20 years as anchor and managing editor of Ozarks TODAY, the popular morning news show that he helped originate, Steve now anchors 6 p.m. weeknight newscasts as well as noon newscasts.
His award-winning reporting continues to take him to virtually every city, town, and county in a vast viewing area and beyond. Over the years, he has also filed reports from New York, Washington, D.C., Hollywood, and the Vatican, where he was received by Pope John Paul II in a private audience in 1989.
While he started at KY3 News just after his 20th birthday, his broadcasting career began as an announcer on KTXR-FM while still at
Hillcrest
High School . He is a 1976 graduate of
Evangel
University .
Off camera, his familiar voice was heard “across the nation and around the world” for 17 years on a syndicated radio program produced in
Springfield from Assemblies of God headquarters.
Steve Grant is married to a special grace named Stephanie who shares his fondness for good restaurants, good movies, good books and travel. They have a grown son, and are the adopted parents of two delightful Japanese Chins.
