Sara joined the KY3 News Team in February 2005 as lead reporter for Ozarks Today.  She can now be seen reporting on local crime and courts.

Sara is an award winning reporter.  Her work has been honored by the Missouri State Teachers Association and the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.  She was also nominated in 2008 for two Regional Emmy Awards.

Before coming to the Ozarks, Sara worked as a reporter in Sherman, Texas.  She's a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University and interned at KY3 News, laying the groundwork for her return as a reporter years later.

Sara also loves to "give back" to the Ozarks community.  Sara emcees events for many charities around the Ozarks, often teaming up with her husband, KY3 News Anchor Ethan Forhetz.  She also speaks to church groups, as well as college and high school classes about journalism and Sara enjoys reading to kids.

Sara is a fitness fanatic.  She has competed in a number of triathlons and races, including, for the last three years, the Ozark Greenways Adventure Race, a more than 50-mile race over the rugged terrain of the Ozarks.  It includes extreme mountain biking, orienteering, running through a thick forest and canoeing and lasts for more than eight hours.  She considers it a "healthy addiction."

Sara married KY3 News anchor Ethan Forhetz on April 21, 2007.  They welcomed their first child, Caroline Grace, on June 11, 2009.  In their spare time, Sara and Ethan enjoy working out, cooking, traveling, volunteering at church and going on walks with Caroline and Maggie, their rat terrier.  They also attend as many OSU Cowboy sporting events as possible!
