Kristin started at KY3 News on April 21, 2008, moving here from Traverse City, Mich., the cherry capital in northern Michigan, where she worked two years at WWTV-WWUP. She was the station’s sole dayside bureau reporter in Traverse City, covering the news of the day.

Nelson earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Michigan State University. She realized her love for reporting while working for the campus news station and interning at WLNS 6 News and HOM-TV 21.

A native of Macomb County, Mich., Nelson is thrilled to be here in the beautiful Ozarks. When she’s not reporting in the field, she plans to explore southwest Missouri. Coming from the Great Lakes State, Nelson loves boating and hopes to take up a new hobby, water skiing.

Nelson is always looking for an interesting story to share, so she asks people to send her e-mail messages with ideas.
