Jay is a native of Missouri and is enjoying his life back in the Midwest!

From an early age, he was drawn to journalism in every form.  Announcing football games, writing for the school newspaper, and editing the high school year book, Jay knew he had found his passion.  It wasn’t until he became a DJ for a radio station in Bowling Green, Mo., that he knew broadcasting was the path he needed to follow.

Jay went to the University of Missouri and graduated in 2007.   He was active in the Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity and was a part of the 2006 Homecoming Steering Committee.  While in the broadcast program, Jay worked at KOMU-TV, learning the ropes.

After graduation, he got his first job at KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas.   Anchoring the morning and noon newscasts, Jay was thrown into the mix very quickly.  Having only experienced blizzards and tornadoes in the Midwest, covering hurricanes and extreme heat was a little bit different!

Jay joined the KY3 team in March 2010. He worked a split shift--reporting on breaking news and events of the day on the evening news and focusing on local charity work and human interest stories on Ozarks Today.

In January 2012, Jay started his new role as Contact KY3 reporter.  The franchise position focuses on consumer reporting and investigations. He can be seen daily on KY3 News at 6.

Outside of work, Jay loves a good round of golf (even if the score isn’t what he had hoped for!) He also enjoys traveling, whether by planes, trains, or automobiles.  He also enjoys spending time with his wonderful fiance,  Nicole.  She is a high school English teacher in the Ozarks. They will be getting married in June 2012.

He’s a big fan of social networking, so Jay would love for you to send any story ideas via e-mail, facebook or Twitter! Of course, you can always just say hello!
