3. Nick's champagne spraying

For the first time since 1997, the Orioles finally had a chance to celebrate after beating the Texas Rangers in the one-game Wild Card playoff on Oct. 5. The players let loose in the visitor's clubhouse afterward, and nobody was into it more than right fielder Nick Markakis (above), who had to wrap his broken left thumb in plastic before maniacally spraying champagne on anyone and everyone close to him. Markakis, who had endured six years of being on terrible teams, deserved to celebrate more than anyone.
