Without middle linebacker Ray Lewis, the Ravens held Bengals running back Cedric Benson (left) mostly in check in the first meeting, limiting him to 41 yards on 15 carries. Benson did score two touchdowns, giving him four in seven career games against the Ravens. Benson has hit the 100-yard plateau three times this season, though only once in his last 10 games. The Cleveland Browns' Peyton Hillis became the third opposing running back to gain 100 yards against the Ravens last week, following Jacksonville's Maurice Jones-Drew and Seattle's Marshawn Lynch. Despite allowing 145 and 117 yards on the ground over the last two weeks, the Ravens' run defense is still ranked second in the NFL. It surrenders 91.8 yards per game and has given up nine rushing touchdowns. The Ravens could be without reserve linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (concussion) this week, which should mean an even bigger role for Brendon Ayanbadejo (right). Benson has fumbled five times over his past two games. His backup, Bernard Scott, has rushed for 346 yards and two touchdowns. EDGE: RAVENS |
