Glimpsed at Maritime Magic: Ngozi Young

Maritime Magic wasn't just any night out for Gozi Young, 32. It was her first "real" night out since having her son, Karlo (named after dad Karlo Young, KPMG director), eight months ago. Staying at home certainly hasn't hurt this Baltimore mom's sense of style and love of fashion. While shopping and keeping up on the trends online, the freelance TV/film makeup artist is also working on her own line of clothing. She's using African wax print cotton fabrics in trendy fitted silhouettes, which she plans to launch on Etsy for the spring/summer 2013 season.

HER STYLE: "Afro chic ... because my parents are from Nigeria. So I always try to have something green or earthy [on]."

HER OUTFIT: An emerald green, white and black color-blocked cotton jersey dress she found at asos.com. Supernova hoop earrings by Melody Eshani, from melodyeshani.com. Black pebbled leather Rocco satchel with rose gold studded bottom by Alexander Wang, from Barneys New York.

FASHION FAVES: "Clothes that are cut differently; a little out of the norm, but not crazy."

WHAT SHE READS: "A bunch of self-help books; anything to empower me as an artist."

WHAT SHE WATCHES: "I love 'Project Runway.' ... I love YouTube. I could sit and watch YouTube videos on fashion or hair forever."
