Located on Two Top Mountain in the Tuscarora Mountains, Whitetail Resort has a breakdown of 26 percent beginner trails, 42 percent intermediate trails and 32 percent expert trails. There are 23 slopes, and the resort's longest run is 4,900 feet. Also featuring a 935-foot vertical drop, Whitetail Resort offers half-pipes and a Terrain Park.

What's new: A new beginner trail called Ledgewood, an outdoor patio and upgrades to the Marketplace Dining Room.

What it costs: On weekdays, adult prices range from $42 for a nighttime lift ticket during nonpeak hours to $63 for an extended all-day ticket. On weekends, tickets are $71 for an extended all-day ticket.
