( McClatchy-Tribune photo / September 30, 2012 ) A former track star, Charles is one of the most dynamic running backs and one of the speediest in the league. He doesn't appear to have lost any explosiveness since returning from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered last season. Charles has rushed for 325 yards and two touchdowns with nine receptions for 78 yards and a score over the past two games. He ranks second overall with 415 rushing yards, trailing Marshawn Lynch by eight yards. His 91-yard touchdown is the longest run in the NFL this season by 26 yards. Charles won't have power back Peyton Hillis to complement him Sunday as he's injured. Charles is averaging 5.8 yards per carry, and it's imperative that the Ravens' outside linebackers set the edge and slow down the flow of running plays until help arrives. Albert McClellan is coming off a strong game against Cleveland Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson, recording eight tackles, two for losses. The Ravens need a big game out of their front seven, including interior penetration from disruptive defensive tackle Haloti Ngata and quicker reactions from veteran middle linebacker Ray Lewis. |
