In the '90s, Jennifer Herrema was indie rock's resident cool girl. Half of the legendary scuzz-blues outfit Royal Trux, Herrema was famously stylish, vastly influential and vaguely terrifying.

After Royal Trux disbanded in 2001, Herrema founded the only slightly more experimental RTX. After eight years, the group has rebranded itself Black Bananas and released its not-really-a-debut debut, "Rad Times Xpress IV." On the phone from California, Herrema talked about her fresh start, her enduring love of hair metal and what it would take to get Royal Trux back together. (Hint: It's a number.
