Myron Maurer has been promoted to chief operating officer of MMPI, a trade show and property management firm that operates the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLTRA0000134" title="Merchandise Mart" href="/topic/services-shopping/merchandise-mart-PLTRA0000134.topic">Merchandise Mart</a>. The 24-year veteran of MMPI will step into the  newly created position July 23.<br>

He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of MMPI's properties throughout the United States, and its consumer and trade shows throughout the U.S. and Canada.  Maurer was promoted from senior vice president,  overseeing MMPI's real estate operations and capital projects, including buildings in Boston, Chicago, <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100102380000" title="Los Angeles" href="/topic/us/california/los-angeles-county/los-angeles-PLGEO100100102380000.topic">Los Angeles</a>, <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100800000000" title="New York" href="/topic/us/new-york-PLGEO100100800000000.topic">New York</a> and Washington D.C.
