Don Reed, son of murder victim Russell Reed, is told on that he needs to leave the Whiteside County Courthouse courtroom in Morrison, Ill., during opening arguments in the Nicholas Sheley trial since he will be testifying. Sheley, 33, is accused in the 2008 beating death of Russell Reed, 93, of Sterling. Reed and is one of eight people in Illinois and Missouri whom Sheley is accused of killing during a period of several days in 2008. He has already been convicted of one of the murders, that of a Galesburg man, and is serving a life sentence.
