3 fun ways to get kids active

KY3's Paul Adler visits with Noah Alldredge of Big Time Results about how you can get your kids off the couch this summer.

One great way to keep children active is by setting a step goal for the child. For example, once the child has reached their step goal, then they will be able to have TV access or video game time. Never forget to use your imagination when thinking of fun rewards for children.
Also, help to make fitness fun for your kid. Fun fitness with your children can include dancing, swimming, and playing sports with them. Spending time outdoors is a great way to stay active. To make adventure and fitness even more fun for kids, try to visit every state park in a 300-mile radius.
If you notice your child sitting inside too much, head out to your nearest Target. Target stores coast-to-coast are changing kids lives by selling a product called The UNICEF Kid Power Band. With the UNICEF Band kids go on missions to learn about new cultures and earn points. Your child will feel accomplished earning points, those points unlock funding from multiple sources, and funds are then used by UNICEF to deliver food to malnourished children around the world.
Everyone who has been around kids knows that most enjoy moving around and staying active, but when kids get older it can be a challenge for them to get enough daily activity. Make being active a part of your family's life. Most importantly, be sure to stay positive and encouraging to help your child continue to be active.
