WATCH: SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket carrying satellite launches

KENEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (CNN) SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launched successfully from Kennedy Space

That's according to a series of tweets on the company's verified twitter account.

The rocket launched at 2 a.m. Eastern time to deliver a commercial communications satellite to orbit.

The company says the satellite deployed successfully approximately 34 minutes after launch.

The launch was re-scheduled from early Tuesday morning when it had to be postponed due to high winds.
