Man drowns when swept away at low-water crossing

SALEM, Mo. High water has killed another person in the Ozarks.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports William Floyd, 69, of Salem died Thursday when his vehicle was swept away as he tried to drive across a low-water crossing on Dry Fork Creek on Farm Road 2430 southeast of Salem. It happened at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday.

Floyd was pronounced dead just after midnight Friday.
