HALLTOWN, Mo. -- Fire crews spent at least two hours last night fighting an out of control brush fire.
It happened a little before 11:00 p.m. in the woods to the west of Highway F near Halltown.
It started as a controlled fire-- with a property owner burning some waste--then it got out of control.
Authorities say it's a good thing humidity was high last night or things could have been much worse.
Crews spent most of their time with leaf blowers and rakes trying to keep excess fuel away from the flames.
