SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - City police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old child, Jade Chereji, at her home on Monday morning. Police went to the home at 2660 E. Sequiota St. after Jade's mother, Bethany Jo Youngblood, called 9-1-1 after she says she woke up and found her daughter unresponsive about 10:10 a.m. Monday.

The Greene County Medical Examiner’s Office will do an autopsy to try to determine the cause of death.

Detectives ask anyone with information about Jade's death to call (417) 864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at (417) 869-TIPS.

A friend of the family set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Jade's funeral. It's https://www.gofundme.com/jadefuneralfund

The friend wrote on the GoFundMe page:

"My friend Bethany is a single mom of two small children, having lost her husband two years ago. Now her 3-year old daughter passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on August 14.

"We are asking for donations to assist Bethany in covering these unexpected expenses while she mourns the loss of her baby.

"Thank you in advance for your donations. They are greatly appreciated."
