Break in rain to be short-lived

By  |

Good morning, and happy Thursday! Freezing rain and drizzle is falling over a good part of the Ozarks early this morning and there may be a few slick spots especially on bridges and overpasses. You’ll need to give yourself a few minutes to get ice off the windshield this morning! We’ll see the drizzle end this morning with highs in the 40s this afternoon. Another round of light rain will move into the region this afternoon and early tonight and this time we’ll see all liquid as temperatures stay in the 40s. There may even be a few rumbles of thunder. Friday looks dry to start with highs back in the 50s. Rain will once again arrive in the afternoon and evening and may continue through the night and well into Saturday. Thunder is again possible especially over Arkansas and far southern Missouri. This is also the region that will see the highest rainfall totals through Saturday with another 2-3” common. A cold front will move through late Saturday and it may get quite windy for a time. Dry weather is expected (with some sun) Sunday through Tuesday with rain returning Wednesday of next week.
