BLUE EYE, Mo. (KY3) The Western Taney County Fire Protection District says that leaf burning is likely to blame for starting a fire that destroyed a large home along Table Rock Lake near Blue Eye.

Firefighters were called to the home at 144 Longshore Dr. just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses reported explosions and flames.

The homeowner confirmed to firefighters that he was burning leaves near his home, which is believed to be what caused his home to catch fire.

Crews say the home's roof collapsed upon their arrival. There were no reports of any injuries. Firefighters from five different departments responded to the scene.
