Humane society in desperate need of foster families

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, a desperate need for foster families.

We see the call for it a lot of it the Lost and Found facebook page since many people can't find an animal's owner right away and can't take them home.

Many of those animals wind up at the pound or here at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri. And that's causing some overcrowding issues at the humane society.

It needs more people willing to be fosters so workers can clear out kennels and make room for more dogs and cats needing homes.

It's easy to sign up and spokesperson Sally Nail says even fostering for a week makes a huge difference.

"There's an application on our website, so you fill that out. We'll call you, find out wheat you're willing to do, whether that's puppies or kittens or a mama nursing, or maybe just a dog. A simple dog or cat, anything at this point is helpful."
