Hundreds of people without power in downtown Springfield Sunday night

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) Hundreds of people lost power in downtown Springfield after a car crashed into a power pole on Sunday night.

According to City Utilities, around 700 customers reported outages after the crash at Mount Vernon and Lexington around 9:05 p.m. Police were seen directing traffic at Kansas Expy. and Mount Vernon.

City Utilities estimated that crews would have power fully restored to the area around 1:00 a.m. Monday. There was no immediate word on injuries associated with the crash.
