SPRINGFIELD, Mo On this Fit Life, we know you're checking out all the holiday cookie parties this time of year. We'll here's an easy recipe that will deliver a healthier choice and free you from the sugar cookie guilt.
Cassie Dimmick of Achieving Your Best shared the recipe with us:
Banana Oatmeal Cookies
*2c. raw plain quick oats
*3 ripe bananas,mashed
*1/2 tbsp cinnamon
*1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients until well mixed (may need to add more or less oats depending on size of bananas-should be cookie dough consistency).
Place spoonfuls of batter on cookie sheet.
Bake 15 minutes or until desired "doneness."
Enjoy - these are great before or after a workout, as
breakfast or a snack.
1⁄4 c dark chocolate chips (adds yumminess and antioxidants)
1/2 c. almond butter (adds protein, calcium, vitamin E, zinc, and antioxidants)
1/2 c. walnuts (adds omega 3s, antioxidants, biotin, and
1 Tbsp ground flax seed (adds fiber, omega 3s, antioxidants, and protein)
1 Tbsp chia seed (adds fiber, omega 3s, antioxidants, and protein)
1 Tbsp hemp seeds (adds protein, calcium, antioxidants, iron, potassium and magnesium)
1Tbsp maca powder (adds iron, iodine, calcium, potassium, and antioxidants)
1/4 c. raisins (adds iron, potassium, fiber, and antioxidants)
