Mt. Vernon, Mo. -- Thirty employers from across the region will be in Mt. Vernon looking to fill hundreds of jobs.

The Missouri Job Center in Springfield is partnering for the first time with the job center in Joplin and it's bringing employers to a central location in Mt. Vernon.

It's all in an effort to reach more rural areas.

All types of industries will be hiring like IT, food service, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail.

"To be able to get employers together, especially with today's market with unemployment, it's so low," Jennifer Biri, Business Service Representative, said. "We're trying to reach out to the most rural areas, to reach out to those communities we're not normally in and to be able to bring those job seekers together."

The event starts at 3 p.m. and lasts until 6 p.m. at the MARC, 882 W. Mt. Vernon.

Make sure to bring resumes some employers will be doing on-site interviews.
