Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost Chihuahua/Frenchie mix

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, our featured dog was found loose in the 2600 block of west Madison. He's an unusual mix of a Chihuahua and French Bulldog.

"He's a little stockier and has the big ears of a Frenchie. And he's very sweet too."

When animal control picked him up, he was wearing a black nylon collar but he didn't have a tag or chip.

Shelter coordinator Josh Doss says the male dog is about two to years old. He's a little on the thin side but that could be just his normal body condition or he's been on the run for awhile.

He also hasn't been neutered which really contributes to dogs getting loose.

"Neutering them really cuts down on the time they'll be out running, looking for a girlfriend. They tend to stay home and get a little lazy when they're neutered."

If you recognize today's featured dog or you've lost a pet, call animal control at 417-833 3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals there now and to fill out an online lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost or found animal on there so be sure to like the page and share it with your friends.
