Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost Lab/Sharpei mix

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, we're featuring a Lab mix found in the 1800 block of north Grant, and the breed he's mixed with is a bit unusual.

"He's got some facial folds and characteristics that might be Sharpei. We're not sure what all is in him but he has that look to him."

The male dog is pretty young, about one to two years old. Someone found him on October 4th near the Rooks gas station on Grant, with no collar, tag or chip.

His nails are clipped and it appears he's been socialized well with people and other dogs. But he also is very skinny, leading animal control to believe he's been on his own for some time.

"I think he's been running for awhile. He's in pretty good condition otherwise, so I think he was owned by someone before. I guess he got out and they couldn't find him."

If you recognize today's featured dog or if you've lost a pet, call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also check out their website to see pictures of all the animals currently there and to fill out an online lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost or found animal on there so be sure to like the page and share it with your friends.
