MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (AP) - A man from Ohio is charged with leaving his 6-year-old daughter alone in a parked van at a casino near St. Louis on Father's Day.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Charles Carter, 46, of Toledo, was charged on Monday with child endangerment.

The probable cause statement used as the basis of the charges says a casino worker found the girl standing alone and crying on the sixth floor of the Hollywood Casino's parking garage in Maryland Heights. It says she had been left "in the middle of the night" in a van parked on the same floor with its windows covered with cardboard and duct tape.
