ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Michael Porter's back is good enough to be back in the lineup.
Missouri Head Coach Cuonzo Martin told ESPN's Paul Finebaum his star freshman will play Thursday in the second-round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament in St. Louis. The Tigers will play the winner of Vanderbilt-Georgia.
Porter injured his back in the first few minutes of the season-opener against Iowa State. Doctors performed surgery on the 6-10 freshman shortly after the injury. Martin told reporters throughout the season it was Porter's call when he felt ready to return to the court. NBA Draft analysts still project Porter to be a lottery selection.
Missouri finished tied for fourth-place in the SEC regular-season with a 10-8 record without Porter.
