SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KSPR/KY3) - The Springfield-Greene County Health Department and the Jordan Valley Communication Health Center collaborated to create the Nest Partnership. Nest stands for nurture, empower, support, and teach. The goal is to bring registered nurses, healthcare providers, community resources and families together to provide health services for families in North Springfield.

The creator of Nest, Cheryl Blevins, said "Our overall goal with both of our programs is to see our families really successful as parents." She said she came up with the idea after community health advocates heard feedback from the north side of town. She said some people were spending hours on the public transit system just for one doctors appointment. The program includes in-home case management services, special care consultation, WIC services, primary care from Jordan Valley Community Health Center and parenting education in a one-stop shop.

Services provided by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department are paid for by the department. Blevins said, "I'm your tax dollars at work." She adds that Jordan Valley is a federally qualified community health center therefore medicare or medicaid are needed to qualify.

The Nest Partnership is located at what was formerly the Springfield-Greene County Health Department’s immunization center, at 660 S. Scenic Avenue in Springfield. Primary care services are offered Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 417-851-1558 or head to or
