CAMDENTON, Mo. - A man from Osage Beach is charged with breaking into a home early Monday by firing a shot through a glass door. The Camden County Sheriff’s Department says Jonathan Adams, 24, fled into the woods after residents of the home confronted him.
The burglary was shortly before 1 a.m. Monday near Highway KK at Ranch Road on the west side of Osage Beach. The residents told officers that a man got in their home by firing a shot through a door. He stole a purse and fled into a nearby wooded area.
Officers searched the area but didn’t find him that night. They put out the intruder’s description to the public and officers followed school buses in the area to make sure he didn’t get on them.
Officers arrested Adams later in the day and prosecutors charged him on Monday afternoon with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, first-degree burglary, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. He also has an arrest warrant in Miller County for failing to appear in court to face a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Adams’ bond in Camden County is $300,000. If he manages to post that, the Miller County warrant has no bond.
