Silver Dollar City to unveil new attraction

BRANSON, Mo. Silver Dollar City will make a big announcement Wednesday about a new ride.

The park is keeping mum until 11 a.m., but promises it the *biggest attraction so far for Silver Dollar City. It will open in the Spring of 2018.

SDC calls it the biggest attraction and investment ever, by far, at $26 Million

It promises a something never seen before anywhere, custom designed for the mountainous terrain of the Ozarks!

On National Roller Coaster Day, Silver Dollar City predicts interest worldwide with coaster groups following in real time on Silver Dollar City’s Facebook Live. Coaster Groups are visiting all summer long, from Germany, Belgium, Austria and all over the United States. Next spring, the largest coaster club in America, American Coaster Enthusiasts, will hold its Spring convention at Silver Dollar City for the opening of this new attraction!

The attraction is made up of more than 8000 yards of Concrete, which is equal to 12 football fields in four inch thick concrete.

Builders also used 415 tons of reinforcing steel, which adds up to about 70 miles of steel bars

For the event Wednesday, Silver Dollar City will host several world-recognized experts in the amusement industry, including a distinguished individual from Germany, rumored to be the manufacturer of a globally-respected ride building company, plus several other experts in the industry….

National Roller Coaster Day, started 1986, is believed to have been a celebration of the first patent on roller coasters. J.G. Taylor received one of the earliest patents for an inclined railway in 1872. For years, history has reported the first roller coaster in America opened at Coney Island on 1884.

Each year on August 16th, you will find people at amusement parks and theme parks across the country participating in National Roller Coaster Day. Today, National Roller Coaster Day is heralded with a coast-to-coast rush of social and digital news.
