SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield City Utilities' line and tree crews are responding to numerous outages throughout the service territory.
Heavy wind and rain Friday evening led to just more than 2,000 reported electric service outage calls in Springfield. Damage includes downed lines and damage to utility structures. It appears that more significant damage is in the area along near Campbell & Sunshine and west of that area.
CU says crews are working as rapidly and as safely as possibly to restore service to customers. Estimated outage times cannot be provided. Customers are reminded to treat any downed line as if it’s energized and to stay away from it.
Customers should call 1-888-863-9001 to report a power interruption.
