Voters approve tax for new high school in Valley Spring, Ark.

VALLEY SPRING, Ark. -- The second time is the charm for the Valley Spring School District.

Voters Tuesday night approved a mill school tax to raise nearly $7million to build a new high school. The district will use some of that money to pay for other renovations, including work to the softball field.

Voters narrowly voted against the millage increase in September. It lost by 14 votes. Fewer than 500 people voted in the election.

Tuesday, voters approved the tax 457 to 358.
