MARSHFIELD, Mo. -- A long-time law officer has been charged with first degree felony statutory sodomy.

Webster County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Brent Grey was charged Tuesday afternoon. He was arrested at his home in Marshfield Monday night, after a hotline call about the sexual abuse.

Sheriff Roye Cole made the arrest, but the Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating the case.

Court records state the victim was ten or 11 years old when sexual abuse began. Documents say the abuse went on between May 2011, and May 2013. The female said Grey would touch her and massage her and make her feel uncomfortable. She also said he would make her touch him.

Sheriff Cole says he let Grey go from the department after the arrest.

Grey is in the Texas County jail. His bond has not yet been set.
