ROGERSVILLE, Mo. The Logan-Rogersville Fire Protection District Board of Directors would said Tuesday that Richard Stirts will become the district’s first full-time fire chief, effective Sept. 1. After several months of deliberation, the decision to hire Stirts, the 20-year part-time fire chief, came during a special closed session meeting last Sunday.

The district covers a large area of eastern Greene County, western Webster County, and southern Christian County. Stirts' current fulltime job is with the Missouri Department of Conservation, where he's a resource technician.
