TUSCUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Investigators in Miller County say human remains found in woods last month belonged to a man reported missing more than four years ago.
The sheriff's department said in a statement on Wednesday that dental records helped confirm the remains were Ricky Wierman, 54, who had been living in the woods.
The sheriff's office says, while a cause of death hasn't been determined, there's no immediate indication that foul play was involved.
Wierman was reported missing in July 2012.
The University of Missouri's anthropology department assisted in the identification effort.
