Todd F. Swortzel has been named president and chief executive of Presbyterian Homes, effective Jan. 1, 2011.<br>

Before joining Presbyterian Homes, an Evanston-based owner-operator of eight retirement communities in Chicago and the north and northwest suburbs, Swortzel held the same positions at Baptist Homes Society Inc.  in Pittsburgh, which operates two continuing care retirement communities and a foundation.  Swortzel also served as executive director of Virginia Baptist Homes, operator of four retirement communities in Virginia.<br>

He has an M.S. in health Aaministration from the Medical College of Virginia at <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="OREDU0000498" title="Virginia Commonwealth University" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/virginia-commonwealth-university-OREDU0000498.topic">Virginia Commonwealth University</a> and a B.S. in business administration from Averett University.
