Eve of the Egyptian Election

Egyptians marched to Tahrir Square in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday, June 15, 2012, the eve of the nation's first freely contested presidential election in history. The demonstrators marched in protest of Ahmed Shafiq's candidacy, a holdover from the old regime who was the last prime minister to serve under ousted former president Hosni Mubarak.
