On this Halloween weekend, the scariest thing Hollywood has to offer is dead Michael Jackson in This is It and the independent comedy Gentleman Broncos.

This is It is designed to capitalize off our country's sick fascination with a recently deceased and weird celebrity. Hastily spliced together since the singer's overdose, this footage features interviews, songs, and performances during rehearsals for what was going to be The Gloved One's comeback tour.

All of this would be a pretty routine concert film if all the spectacle and macabre didn't circle this film about a very talented but flawed guy. One thing easy to forget around all the tabloid headlines is Jackson really could sing and dance all the way to the end.

This is It - and it won't be - is rated PG for some suggestive choreography and scary images.

Gentleman Broncos is from the same director that gave us Napoleon Dynamite, so you've been warned. A ‘nobody’ kid attends a science-fiction convention to learn that a big-name writer has stolen one of his ideas for a best-selling book.

Of course, all of this leads to mass wackiness and a general surreal film that will take more pleasure at making us laugh at its characters than with them. If you like this sort of thing, the film is rated PG-13 for some crude humor.
