Students of the Veterans Club at Hagerstown Community College will hold a special Veterans Day event Thursday, Nov. 8, at Hagerstown Community College's Student Center, Robinwood Drive, east of Hagerstown. Ceremony will be at 11 a.m., ceremony; 12:30 p.m. film. Bulldog Detachment of the Marine Corps League will present the colors. Pastor John Miller will give the invocation, Melissa Miller will sing the national anthem and there will be guest speakers. A representative from the office of Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md, will present a flag to the club. Following the ceremony, the documentary "Restrepo" will be shown. Call 240-500-2367 or email rtmyers@hagerstowncc.edu.

Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" White will perform at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at The Maryland Theatre, 21 S. Potomac St., downtown Hagerstown. 4. Wine Down Friday
Singer and songwriter Matt Zimmerman will play finger-style guitar from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Knob Hall Winery, 14108 St. Paul Road, Clear Spring. $5, includes tastes of wine, $1 for the first glass of wine. Go to www.knobhallwinery.com.
