UnderCovers: Irish Jailbreak

Our sexy spy couple headed to Ireland for this week’s globe-trotting adventure on UnderCovers. This week, they're sent to pursue a hard drive containing the details of all of the CIA’s secret detention centers across the globe, which fell into the hands of Sean Cullen, general all-around Irish Bad Guy.

Good thing the CIA has such a crack staff of spies to retrieve the critical data it loses so easily.

We are also lured in to the intrigue of what is the real reason that the Blooms were reactivated and why is it being kept a secret? Why did they both *really* leave the agency, and why do they refuse to discuss it with each other...particularly when Samantha wants to come clean about it and says that it’s like lying to continue to conceal the truth? The audience wants to know and we suggest telling us! Sooner rather than later, please.

So our spies showed up at Mountjoy prison as Irish federal inspectors. Is there an accent these two can’t do? What they don’t know is that they’re showing up in the wake of Cullen’s escape from prison. Apparently Mountjoy prison is about as secure as the CIA’s data. Random stuffed animals whose eyes are stuffed with mystery powder? Check! Let ’er in! Internal checkpoints requiring credentials to pass? Nah.

After being reunited with Leo and Hoyt, the crew heads out to track down leads. Leo and Hoyt visit the ex-girlfriend, Fiona, much to Leo’s pleasure. Steven and Samantha head to the local ex-con bar, where they continue to pretend to be Irish and talk their way in to finding out where Sean is. Turns out that Sean isn’t popular there either, but they do get the name of someone who might know where he is: Brian, who is Sean’s partner in the hard drive theft. Score!

They track down Brian, but in the meantime, Sean has contacted him and threatened to kill his wife. They agree to exchange the key to the locker where the hard drive is stored and for Brian to put his gun down if Sean releases wifey. Never trust the backstabbing types! Of course wifey (Marie) picked up the gun, shot her husband, and ran off with Sean. Too bad our crew arrived after this all went down.

Hoyt is really growing on us. He used his powerful skills with the ladies (rejecting him) to acquire the information of which room Sean and Marie had checked into once they had located the right hotel. They spy on Marie from next door and bust in on her once they see she’s received a delivery. Poor Marie, forced to tell them everything and not getting to attend the performance and wear the pretty dress after all. But she does tell them a lie - what to send in the body of the text once she has the money. What happened to our Human Lie Detector that Steven alleges he is?

Samantha shows up looking as spectacular as ever in the royal blue gown, taking Marie’s place in the exchange of hard drive for money. Steven covers her. By playing the tympani. This man has many many talents. Makes you wonder what secret he’s hiding that he could be happy just running a catering business. So Samantha sends the  text after receiving the money with the wrong message, alerting Sean that there was a problem. Shame for Leo who is taken hostage, and impressive on the part of Samantha that she remained cool as a cucumber when she said that she did not negotiate with hostage takers. Poor Leo.

Then to everyone's relief our Human Lie Detector shows up with a bomb-laden suitcase of money in exchange for the hard drive.  Leo escapes, the bad guy is caught, and the hard drive is recovered. Another International disaster averted thanks to the Blooms, Leo, and Hoyt. <a href="http://polldaddy.com/poll/3923353/" mce_href="http://polldaddy.com/poll/3923353/">Was Steven a credible Irish ex-con?</a><span style="font-size:9px;" mce_style="font-size:9px;"><a href="http://polldaddy.com/features-surveys/" mce_href="http://polldaddy.com/features-surveys/">online surveys</a></span>
