Republican presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney will visit Indianapolis in late August to address the American Legion’s national convention.
The American Legion confirmed the Aug. 29 appearance, which will be the organization’s 94th convention at the Indianapolis Convention Center. The event, which will begin at 3 p.m., takes place one day before the former Massachusetts governor will accept the Republican nomination for president.
President Barack Obama will give a videotaped speech to the American Legion on Aug. 28.
Other speakers include Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki and Ike Skelton, former chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
