SPRINGFIELD -- Icy roads contributed to a traffic death near the Springfield-Branson National airport. Police say Richard Williams, 20, of Nixa died Tuesday evening when his SUV was hit by a semi that could not stop on the slick pavement caused by an ice storm. The SUV spun in the road before the truck hit it. Continuing weather problems forced several area school districts to close on Wednesday.

Franklin Electric says the move will save money and make the company more efficient. About 200 workers at the Siloam Springs plant lost their jobs to the same facility in Mexico in March 2007.

The "girl" was actually a North Little Rock police officer, and Wodash was arrested after going briefly to the convenience store and then returning to his hotel room.
