MARIONVILLE, Mo. -- The home of a murder victim is going up for auction on May 25. The home will go to the highest bidder on Memorial Day along with a wide range of contents.
Auctioneer Ralph McKnight says hasn't seen too many of this type of auction. He believes some people will show up just out of curiosity.
Kathy Duda, 59, was stabbed to death in the front yard of her home in mid-March. Police found her ex-husband inside the home with self-inflicted knife wounds. Robert Duda Sr. recovered from those wounds.
Duda is charged with murder, armed criminal action and burglary. He's scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in a Lawrence County courtroom in Mount Vernon on May 28.
The home is described as a well maintained 1890s Victorian. McKnight says the contents of the house will draw attention, too.
He believes top interest will focus on the furniture, antiques, 300 angel figurines, table lamps and even ships in bottles.
The auction starts at 8 a.m.
