10-thousand people are expected at Lake of the Ozarks this weekend for a dog jumping festival.
It's called the Canine Cannonball at the Dog Days Bar and Grill.
R.J. Rau, Rebecca Green and Ruger joined Ozarks Today on Friday June 12th with a preview of what the dogs will be doing.

In Dock Dogs events like the Canine Cannonball, dogs and their owners compete in the big air event, where the winners in the professional ranks jump distances over 20’ before splashing down in a specially-designed soft-sided pool. The world record holder is a greyhound mix named Country who soared 28’10” in 2005.
We're told dog owners travel two to three times a month to do this type of event. They’re used to doing it in parking lots at a big box store, so for them to get to come to the Lake of the Ozarks where they can be on the lakefront where the dogs can play in the water, they can include a vacation in the trip and actually do something in between competitions.
Pet friendly hotels at the Lake of the Ozarks were booked solid during the 2008 competition at Dog Days. The dog owners are a close-knit community and the sport’s popularity caused the Canine Cannonball to boom.
