LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. -- If your home is your castle, then LIsa Elliott's home is a palace that's now up for auction in search of its king or queen.
"This house has everything you could imagine, from a sauna to a whirlpool to all the luxury kitchen items," said Lisa Elliott, owner of the Mansion at 86 Woodhaven Lane.
The list goes on: five bedrooms, eight bathrooms and four kitchens make up the 8.000 square feet of lavish living, not to mention the magnificent vie of the lake.
"Here's another beautiful view," said Greg Duncan of Cates Auction & Realty Co.
Don't forget the pool, the outdoor fire pit, the elevator and the ornate detail.
"Here we have cave showers, granite and beautiful woodwork," said Duncan.
From the back, the four-story home looks like a hotel, a place many of us would only dream about, but the successful bidder may be purchasing this as a second or third vacation home.
"That's very possible," said Duncan.
"It's a great investment," said Elliott.
Elliott is a real estate agent, in the business of developing lakefront properties. The recession is slowing her ability to make a profit. Her mansion has been on the market for a year.
"Had the economy not taken a turn down, it would have already been gone," said Elliott.
The current listing price, already reduced, is $3.35 million. Now Elliott and three other mansion owners are turning to Cates Auction for help. Chances are good that the winning bidders will pay less than the sticker prices.
"They may walk away owning a home at a price they wouldn't believe was possible," said Duncan.
The auction takes place Saturday, July 18. There are different times to bid for each of the four mansions. For more information, click here.
