Don’t be surprised if you soon hear a server at Denny's newest restaurant in Las Vegas ask, "Would you like a side of hash browns with your wedding cake?"
The diner, along the Fremont Street Experience, opened Nov. 29 in downtown Las Vegas, but it's more than just a place to get a Grand Slam breakfast. Besides the usual 24/7 dining, guests can belly up to the bar for a cocktail. And if a marriage proposal follows some hotcakes and hooch, this Denny's will soon open its own wedding chapel.
The new diner is one of only a handful of the chain’s nearly 1,700 locations worldwide to serve alcohol. Both the drinks menu and the food menu offer creations available only at the new property.
Guests may wish to try the "King Stack," a breakfast inspired by Elvis Presley that features pancakes loaded with peanut butter, banana and bacon. Adults can accompany their meal with a Bakotini -- a bacon-flavored martini.
An interactive photo booth allows visitors to take photos using quintessential Vegas props and to instantly share their images on Facebook or Twitter. There's also a gift shop.
The wedding chapel, the latest in a long list of quickie marriage sites in downtown Las Vegas, is scheduled to open early next year.
"Guests can browse through a menu of packaged wedding experiences to create the wild, wacky or romantic diner nuptials of their dreams," a news release said. Fittingly, wedding cakes will be made from stacks of -- what else? -- pancakes.
The diner is in the Neonopolis complex, soon to become home to Krave Massive, the world's largest gay nightclub. The SlotZilla thrill ride is also being built just a few feet away.
