What tape formats can you edit?

XD-Cam (Blue Laser DVD), Beta SP, DVC-Pro, D2 and IMX. If you have a Firewire connection on your digital camera, we can import video directly into our Media 100. As for audio, we can use mp3, wav, MiniDisc, DAT, CD, 1/4", and cassette.


On what tape format do you shoot?

We now shoot exclusively on Sony XD-Cam digital discs. This exciting new format uses the breakthrough technology of Blue Laser DVD to allow better imaging, longer sessions, more light sensitivity and the convenience of random access. Plus, the XD-Cam optical discs are archival quality and will not deteriorate with age.


Can I view my footage ahead of my edit session?

Sure. We’ll be happy to schedule a time for you to come in and view your footage. Or we can make a copy (with time code added) on DVD or VHS for you to view at your convenience.


Can you use my existing graphics files?

We can work with files in practically any software, including Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop CS.


Can you burn my ad onto a DVD or CD?

Yes.


Can you make a video file I can add to my website?

Yes. Depending on the size of your project we can make a Quicktime movie of your finished video and burn it to a CD or DVD that you can put onto your website, or simply email it to you.


May I store my footage at KY3 for free?

Absolutely! Nothing beats having the convenience of having your source material close at hand. So we’ll be happy to temporarily store your raw footage and treat your materials like they are our own.


Do you have music for my commercial?

KY3’s music library features Killer Tracks, the industry’s most prestigious music library, available to you for a nominal fee. We’ll even show you how to access the complete collection of more than 3,000 music cuts online from your own computer so that you can help select the music for your production.


What’s best for my project, linear or nonlinear editing?

Depends on the project. Generally, linear is the choice for speed, and non-linear the choice when you want to make future changes easily. But the differences are easily overstated. We’ll help you decide, based on your goals and budget.


Do you have someone to voice my commercial?

We have staff announcers that you can utilize at no cost. Plus, we have access to some of Springfield’s leading voice talent who can do a great job at a most reasonable cost.


Can you handle the coverage of my large event?

Our Mobile Services Truck was designed with live events in mind. With our full complement of professional equipment, we’re ready to cover most any meeting or live event you can think of, regardless of size.
