OZARK, Mo. -- A man from Nixa charged with sexual offenses against children in four counties turned himself in to Christian County jailers on Tuesday. Larry Savage's lawyer accompanied him to the jail. Savage, 42, eluded sheriff's deputies for several days as they tried to serve a warrant for the latest charge against him.
Savage beat back previous efforts by law enforcement officers to keep him in jail, by posting bonds for as high as $200,000. Last week, for the third time in 13 months, the Christian County prosecutor charged Savage with sexual exploitation of a minor. Associate Circuit Judge John Waters, who issued the warrant, set no bond for the new charge. After Savage surrendered on Tuesday, Associate
Circuit Judge Mitch Hough scheduled a hearing for Wednesday afternoon to consider Savage's motion for a bond to be set.
The charges in Webster, Christian, Newton and Greene counties are for acts that investigators believe occurred over several years. The suspected
previous crimes against children include statutory rape, incest, bestiality and emotional abuse.
