NIXA, Mo -- The spirit of the Ozarks continues to amaze many folks.
Saturday night, the Pitt family donated $1 million to St. John's Hospital to help fund a pediatric cancer center.
Sunday afternoon, they weren't movie stars or well-known humanitarians, but their convictions are the same. Meeting on a diamond to promote healthy babies.

150 strangers used a beautiful Sunday to put their best foot forward. Raising money with a little kickball.
"Softball too intimidating, dodgeball too rough," Jackie Douglas said who's used a doula twice.
The 10 teams had a bouncing good time in Nixa Sunday, raising money for the Doula Foundation of Mid-America.
"Our hope at Doula is to connect these mothers at the heart of the birth," Julie Waldie the Executive Director of the Doula Foundation of Mid-America said.
A doula is a person trained in childbirth. She provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before during and just after childbirth.
"Less stress in the room, when the doctor was out, the doula answered all my questions," Douglas said.
Jackie Douglas will once again use a doula in a few weeks. It's a program brought to the Ozarks by her grandmother.
The Doula Foundation of Mid-America is focusing its efforts on a growing concern in Missouri.
"They could be at-risk financially, teen aged mothers, single mothers," Waldie said.
A study released this year says Greene County leads the state in child abuse and neglect cases. It's a score the Doula Foundation thinks it can change.
"If they get the support they need," Waldie believes, "the abuse and neglect will go down."
If you're asking what's the difference between a doula and a mid-wife.
A doula does-not provide any medical help.
