Missouri's 2009 state high school volleyball champions are being determined this weekend at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. Four teams from the Ozarks are competing in the tournaments.

Ozark, making its first appearance since 1979, will play in the Class 4 semifinals starting at 4 on Friday. The Tigers play the three other teams in pool play, with the top two finishers playing for the championship at 4 on Saturday.

The Ozark team left for Kansas City early Friday morning. To see the sendoff it received at the school, you can view the accompanying video.

Rogersville represents the area in Class 3. The rest of their pool consists of O'Hara (KC), Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau), and Villa Duchesne (St. Louis). Once again, the top two teams from pool play advance to Saturday's championship.

While there are no area teams in Class 2, there are two area representatives in Class 1. Winona and Osceola make up half the final four with Lesterville and Lutheran (KC) the other schools competing for the title.
